We enjoyed a ride on the McAllen Rail Trail with the Segway and bike. Sure have missed the biking, it is good to be back on the seat.
We took a Segway tour of Harlingen so Belinda could learn how to ride it better. The Segway was a lot of fun and the tour gave us a good historical perspective of the Harlingen murals.
We had a Hawaiian Luau on February 7th. It was from 10am to 9pm so a day full of fun, good food and a lot of laughs with the games. Unfortunately it was cold so everything was held inside and no shorts and sandals for us.
The week of February 10th was very busy, lots of activities:
The Ladies Luncheon included a very unique Fashion Show with Jerry and Belinda as models. Belinda was modeling the latest in post shower wear and Jerry was modeling the latest in Bridal fashion. What fun it was!!
We did a Shrimp Boat Tour at Zimco Marine. It was very educational, we learned a lot about the whole shrimping industry and the big difference between Wild Gulf Shrimp and all the other shrimp that we buy in the stores from around the world. Our advice after the tour, always ask for the wild caught gulf shrimp, very healthy and delicious.
We enjoyed an evening concert that was part of the Harlingen Concert Series. Yang Liu, violinist and his wife Olivia Liu, pianist performed an awesome concert. We have never heard a violin like that have a whole new appreciation for the violin. Valentine's Dinner was at Milano's a family owned Italian restaurant open since 1955, the food was excellent!! We spent all day Saturday on the beach at South Padre Island. Jerry had a blast riding the Segway in the sand and Belinda enjoyed the Margarita's from Claytons' Beach Bar.
The week of February 17th:
Our next adventure was the South Padre Island Coast Guard tour. Very informative.
February 23rd was the annual park Talent Show. For those of us with no talent we sure did have fun. Jerry and Belinda were in the "Pass it on - A Night at the Movies" skit which was a lot of fun with lots of laughs. We also did Line Dancing with our smiley faces on. Belinda was in the repeat of the Women's Fashion show as seen in pictures above. Who knew with no talent you could be in a Talent Show and have so much fun :).
On Tuesday, February 25 we enjoyed a day at the beach on South Padre for the first annual Fig Tree RV Park Kite Fest. We didn't have a kite but sure had fun watching all the unique kites that flew very well in just the right amount of wind. Jerry enjoyed his Segway on the beach.
