We started off our journey
with a 2 day stop at Spartan Chassis in Charlotte ,
MI for regular maintenance work
on the Motorhome. Then 2 nights at the
Hoosier Racino parking lot in Anderson ,
IN waiting out the rain. Hopefully all that is behind us.
Our first stop was Kansas City for some
bbq. This was our last bbq cuisine to
try and it did not disappoint, great flavor.
We visited our Fig Tree friends, Carl and Lynn while we were there.
During our overnight at the Amarillo Welcome Center
we had to hit the Big Texan Steak Ranch for another great steak. A Route 66 icon.
We made an overnight stop at
the Route 66 Casino RV Park just west of Albuquerque ,
very nice pool and hot tub.
We spent 2 nights in the
Fire Rock Casino Parking lot. If you
ever stop make sure you stay way out because the parking lot fills up with cars
in the evening. We had lunch at the
historic Route 66 El Rancho Hotel, beautiful interior. The hotel is known for the very long list of
actors/actresses that stayed here over the years. The Code Talker’s Exhibit in the Visitor’s
Center is very interesting. We had lunch
at Jerry’s Café, #1 Trip Advisor in Gallup ,
it did not disappoint.
