2014 January

January had a lot of roller coaster weather days, from the mid 30's to high 70's/low 80's every week.  Some say it is the coldest winter they can remember here but we can't complain too much because it is still much warmer than home.  We keep waiting from some consistent warm weather.  We even had ice on the trees towards the end of January, didn't need to see that this winter.

We had a few highlights this month.

We went to a Newmar (our motorhome brand) luncheon where they had a presentation on the Sugar Cane Industry.  It was very informative and educational.

We walked the causeway between Port Isabel and South Padre Island with our friends Wayne and Donna.  It was about 3 miles total.  Very similar to walking the Mackinaw Bridge on Labor Day.  The weather could have been better but it was still fun and a good work out.

We toured the Aloe King Plantation learning about the Aloe Vera process from seed to manufacturing all the Aloe products.

Of course we had to hit one of the R.C. Air shows.  They had a wonder day for it, the sun and wind cooperated.

The end of the month brought 2 new items to store in the motorhome/trailblazer.  Jerry finally got one of his bucket list items, a Segway and Belinda got the folding bike in a bag she has been wanting.  We didn't plan it but they both arrived on the same day.
